January Newsletter

Written by: Jen Fong - Communications Coordinator

We're Baaaaack!

Happy January to everyone except gym bros.

January 14, 2025

Happy (Belated) New Year! Yeah, We're late. We're also the most rested we've been since 2017.

We blinked on December 26th and suddenly it’s mid January? We hope you also took a well-deserved break and entered the new year properly dazed and brie-filled. Now welcome back to your favourite local business’ regular programming with  Balloon Bar YQR’s first Monthly Newsletter of 2025!

NEW YEAR, NEW US

Tanna’s goal in 2025 is to work less! Seriously though. Balloon Bar YQR has went through a few years of massive growth and expansion. This year, we’re honing in, refining, and specializing. The goal? For our awesome staff to take over day-to-day operations, allowing Tanna to focus on client experience, community engagement, and next steps!

ROLL CALL

The awesome staff in question:

Stay tuned for more on each team member as we launch a Meet the Team segment on our socials this month! We’re giving our staff access to our socials as we speak… BBYQR’s 2025 social media presence is about to get a lot more fun (and maybe a little less millennial…Maybe.)

FEBRUARY PHOTOSHOOT

It’s officially been a year since we launched BBYQR Photoshoots! We’ve had the best time capturing moments with our clients and connecting with them in new ways. Don’t miss out on our next shoot on February 2nd, 2025! V-D foils, heart confetti, and big smiles guaranteed.

Last Year's Feb Favourites

DECEMBER HIGHLIGHTS

Tree Fundraiser with Local Market YQR

We got to make a cool balloon tree AND it supported a great cause! This awesome fundraiser - put on by our friends at Local Market YQR - involved different businesses crafting unique trees in support of a charity. People could donate to the tree and support its corresponding cause! Our charity of choice? The Comeback Society! This awesome organization is dedicated to amplifying Indigenous voices and culture. They deserve all the support (during the holidays and beyond!)

Holiday Parties Galore

From corporate Christmas parties to private events and celebrations, we decked the halls (balloon-style) all month long! Here are a couple of favourites:

Hill Companies’ Annual Holiday Party

Private Event: December Engagement Party

UPCOMING EVENTS

CommUNITY for Women Breakfast

When: February 4, 2025

Where: Queensbury Convention Centre

This February marks the second Women’s Breakfast hosted by the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation! This event - dedicated to the incredible women leaders in our community - is a morning of inspiration, celebration, and excellent food! The best part? All proceeds support the Emergent Women and Children’s Fund.

2024’s Barbie-themed breakfast stole our hearts and our stomachs! Our team had a blast both balloonifying and attending this fantastic event! Plus, we got to wear our favourite pink outfits… Can you say win win?

BBYQR's Annual Report

COMING FEBRUARY 2025!

Stay tuned for our year-end recap (and one of our most prized “big kid business moves.”) Our 2023 Annual Report was a smashing success, and we can’t wait to share our highlights from 2024 (and maybe some fun balloon facts that nobody but us find interesting)

LOCAL LOVE

The Atlas Hotel

Where: 4177 Albert St, Regina, SK

We’ve had the pleasure of working with the Atlas Hotel on many events, and we’ve been blown away every time! This locally owned hotel is in the heart of Regina and ALWAYS goes above and beyond for their guests. And there’s a Waterpark. Run, don’t walk.

Tanna and friends (otherwise known as the Founding Mothers of Balloon Bar) took their families to The Atlas Hotel’s Holly Jolly Event last month. Needless to say, they had a holly jolly time! Water wings, party hats, core memories… We can’t wait to see what other awesome events Atlas has up their sleeve!
